Race 4 Achievement Scholarship

The Race 4 Achievement Scholarship was established in 2021 by a USC Upstate alumnus, Ryon Smalls, Esq. ‘14, who co-founded the non-profit Race 4 Achievement while he was a junior at USC Upstate. His organization helps guide high school and middle school students in North and South Carolina communities who aspire to develop professional skills and become well-rounded scholars and citizens in their neighborhoods. Through R4A’s programs and scholarships, the non-profit is able to provide life-impacting opportunities for many in the Carolinas. Thanks to Mr. Small’s Race 4 Achievement Scholarship financial assistance is available to students from historically, socio-economically disadvantaged communities, who demonstrate leadership, academic achievement, and affinity for USC Upstate. These student applicants must be rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors with a minimum 2.3 GPA and submit a 300-word essay expressing their academic and professional goals for the next ten years. This scholarship awards up to $1,000.
